Full steam ahead on the Oberalp Pass (Saturday, October 28th, 2023)

Description

With the Furka steam train over the Oberalp Pass

On October 28th and 29th, 2023, the steam train Furka mountain route crosses the Oberalp Pass (2033 m above sea level) as part of nostalgia trips. It travels the route Realp-Andermatt-Oberalp-Disentis / Mustér (and back) once a weekend.

For most people, the steam train ride over the Oberalp Pass will be a premiere. The trains, which were driven by steam locomotives, traveled the line that went into operation in 1926 until the Furka-Oberalp-Bahn (FO) was electrified in 1942. It would be the wish of the organizers that as many passengers as possible complete these nostalgic trips in historical clothing from the 1930s and 1940s.

As in the past, travel is divided into three classes. In 1st class (Premium Class) and 2nd class (1st class), traveling in armchairs is a little more comfortable. Traveling in 3rd class (wooden bench class (2nd class)) is a little cheaper. Several photo stops are planned along the way. A stop for lunch is planned in Disentis / Mustér.

information and notices

Available seats: 1st class (Premium Class) = 6 seats / 2nd class (1st class) = 30 seats / 3rd class (wooden class) = 102 seats

Drinks and small meals are available on the train for all passengers

(not included in the tour price).

Passengers are invited to participate in this journey through time in historical clothing.
