The HG 2/3 No. 7 locomotive in pictures
The steam locomotives of type HG 2/3 formed the basis of operation on the Visp-Zermatt railway from 1890. Of the original eight built by the Schweizerische Lokomotiv- und Maschinenfabrik Winterthur, two locomotives have been preserved in working orderby the Furka-Bergstrecke steam railway (DFB). No. 6 "Weisshorn" is in service, No. 7 "Breithorn" will be rebuilt and overhauled in the next few years.
