Information about our diesel vehicles

The diesel crew takes care of the DFB's traction units equipped with combustion engines. With the exception of the Xmh 4961, these are all diesel vehicles. The activities of the diesel crew include both the operation of the vehicles, i.e. the scheduling and the driving service, as well as maintenance in the form of servicing, overhauls and conversions of the vehicles.

The diesel crew's staff includes experts from all faculties necessary for professional work execution, from mechanical engineers to software engineers. They are supported by colleagues who have also acquired specific knowledge over the years. Because the maintenance and conversion work is carried out by the staff themselves, there is a high level of identification with the vehicles. This results in a careful and prudent operational use, which leads to corresponding cost reductions.
