100 years Furka-Oberalp railway

From 3 to 5 July 2026, we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the historic Alpine connection between Oberwald and Realp. Look forward to three days filled with steam, history and encounters along the legendary mountain railway.

Programme

Daily festival operation from 10:00 - 17:00

Opening – Friday, 3 July 2026 Evening journey with historic rolling stock on the route Disentis–Andermatt–Realp.

Railway Romance – Saturday, 4 July 2026 Steam train Andermatt–Realp in the morning. Special services to Furka and to Disentis. Insights into railway operations and festival activities.

Festival Day – Sunday, 5 July 2026 Special service from Disentis with locomotive change in Andermatt. In the afternoon, additional steam train from Realp to Furka and back.

Free shuttle trains

In addition, free feeder trains will operate between Andermatt and Realp on Saturday, 4 July 2026 and Sunday, 5 July 2026:

• Departure Realp MGB 09:21 – Arrival Andermatt 09:40

• Departure Andermatt 10:08 – Arrival Realp 10:30

Getting here: Please use public transport. There are very few parking spaces available on site. The train stations at Disentis, Andermatt and Realp take you right to the heart of the action!
