Sections

The Sections are independent associations with their own statutes and committees in Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands. With the Edelweiss section, there is also a section for international members without regional affiliation.

The sections:

  • organise construction weeks on the railway line

  • provide a large number of volunteers for railway operations

  • organise events and trips

  • represent the Furka-Bergstrecke at trade fairs and exhibitions

In some sections, specialist groups have been formed. The Aargau section owns the 14 historic passenger coaches and operates the carriage workshop in Aarau. The Eastern Switzerland section is involved in the historic steam locomotives, which are overhauled in Uzwil.

Central Committee

The umbrella organisation is managed by a central comittee, which acts as a contact point for all association matters.
